United Nations proclaimed the year 2000 as the International Year for the Culture of Peace

Opening of The JAN LETZEL YEAR (1880 - 1925) in Dr Čížek City Theatre Náchod on Friday January 14, 2000 at 19.00 p.m. The movies Two Survivors of The Little Boy (S. Bohadlo), pre-premiére of the TV architecture document Appealing Náchod (with humor and criticism by Radovan Lipus and David Vávra, unfortunately without any Letzel note) and a fiction biography of Jan Letzel The Paradise Garden (screen-play Olga Strusková, Viktor Preiss acting). Discussion with movie makers. The A-Dome and Humanity sample collection exhibition at the foyer of Dr Čížek City Theatre Náchod.

LETZEL PRIX WORKSHOP 2000 - NÁCHOD. Architectonical Student Context THE TOWNHALL OF NÁCHOD FOR THE 3rd MILLENIUM July 9 -15, 2000 hosted by VOŠS and Střední průmyslová škola stavební in Náchod. Among 9 of two-students teams the main JAN LETZEL PRIX 2000 was awarded to Pavel Hudec and Zdeněk Sláma, the special award won Martin Čermák a Jiří Matyáš as the result of the jury (Doc. Ing Arch. Arnošt Navrátil, CSc., MVDr Josef Řehák, Doc. Ing. Arch. Karel Fořtl, CSc., Ing. Arch. Aleš Krtička, Ing. Arch Pavel Rydlo, PhDr. Pavel Škranc) decesion. The next JAN LETZEL PRIX 2002 will be held in two years.
JOSIP PLEČNIK THROUG THE LENS AND HEART OF Dr. Damjan Prelovšk, charge d´affair of Slovenian Republic in Prague. Together with representatives of the city and the region the international Work Camp NÁCHOD CASTLE 2000 (students from Japan, USA, Turkey, France, Spain and Czech Republic) planted the Friendship Lime-tree on Monday September 4, 2000 in front of the Regional Office in Náchod. The PLEČNIK exhibition was opened by Dr. D. Prelovšk at 5.00 pm at the Šrůtek Gallery, at 7:00 pm Prelovšks lecture presented the works of Plečnik in Prague and in Ljubljana. .
JAN LETZEL VOŠS CIVIL ENGENEERING SCHOOL & SPŠS CIVIL ENGENEERING SCHOOL IN NÁCHOD. Students of Náchod civil engeneering schools entered on Monday September 4, 2000 for the first time their school named after Jan letzel.
Czech Comission for UNESCO at its session of June 8, 2000 overtook the patronage to the JAN LETZEL WEEK in NÁCHOD, October 23. - 28. října 2000", appreciating the high level of the project.
